Bonnaroo 2009 was pretty brilliant. The music was amazing, our camping spot
was perfect, and everyone was cool.
Thursday we learned that our awesome boat cover tent thingy (that's the
technical term for those of you unfamiliar with lingo) can withstand tornado
force winds as a sudden downpour proceeded to drench all who weren't ready
and rip many less well staked tents and easy-ups out of the ground, into the
sky, and then back down in other's camps. Our hatches were battened down
beautifully though.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were a blur to be honest. There's was lots of
music, we met a lot of people, we saw the sun rise each day, and Doug had an
epiphany regarding bubbles. Basically he realized that bubbles make everything
better. We were standing in the security line to get into Centeroo, it
was hot, the line was long and taking forever. We are all annoyed and begging
them to just open the damn floodgates already. Then a single bubble floats by.
BOOM, attitudes changed. People laughed and pointed and all because of some
bubbles. Doug is convinced that if he was getting executed and they had
bubbles it would make the experience so much better.
We all had a great laugh when we saw, "OK guys, next year at Bonnaroo..."
spray painted on one of the Centeroo walls. So in that vein, next year
at Bonnaroo... wait... nah, you'll just have to find us to find out!
PWS... out!
Kirk put together a cool video compilation of some of the 2009 pictures. Enjoy!
